An apprenticeship start to remember

On Friday, 13 August 2021, eight young people embarked on their professional journey. Six of them began their training as cleaning specialists (EFZ/EBA). To make their entry into working life easier, Vebego and Wetrok organised a practical and engaging introduction day, filled with learning, teamwork, and enthusiasm.

Shared values, common goals

In the morning, the apprentices were warmly welcomed at Vebego’s headquarters in the YOND building in Zurich. Afterwards, they travelled to Kloten for a visit to Wetrok, the Swiss expert in professional cleaning technology.
Wetrok and Vebego have maintained a strong partnership for many years, built on shared values: quality, efficiency, and appreciation for the people who ensure cleanliness every day. Their collaboration goes far beyond product use it includes consulting, training, and supporting young talent.

From components to a finished cleaning machine

After a shared lunch at Wetrok’s headquarters, the apprentices were introduced to the fascinating world of cleaning technology. During a guided tour, employees demonstrated how a cleaning machine is created from receiving individual components to final assembly and delivery.
Many were impressed to learn that Wetrok machines are entirely produced in Switzerland. They even got a glimpse into the research laboratory, where Wetrok’s experts develop new cleaning formulas.

A fun and challenging obstacle course

After so much information, it was time for some hands-on experience. In the showroom, an obstacle course awaited: the apprentices had to drive a ride-on scrubber-dryer, avoid obstacles, and pick up materials using a grabber without touching the orange cones.
Guided by Product Manager Fabian Tschümperlin and Application Technician Mathias Gaio, the participants tackled the challenge with focus and laughter. The goal wasn’t competition, but teamwork and shared enjoyment.

From theory to practice

To wrap up the day, the apprentices visited the chemistry department. Product Manager Christina Menzel presented Wetrok’s foam cleaning method and emphasised an important principle they will hear often throughout their training: Choosing the right cleaning method is the key to efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

«Once again, we were able to spend an exciting and enjoyable afternoon with our new apprentices at Wetrok. The cleaning machine course was a real highlight for everyone – a perfect way to start their apprenticeship..»
